These Workshops are related to the drama curriculum they introduce the key practitioners including Brecht, Stanislavski and Artuad (not all at once obviously) in an accessible and practical way.

All Hard Graft trainers were schooled as classical actors at drama schools such as Central, Arts Educational, Guildford and Rose Bruford. We were taught the best way to learn a technique is to get on your feet and do it.

The session begins with a discussion on the historical and political background to the practitioner in question, including the roots of the theory and key points. The practitioners work is then broken down into different stages to illustrate the progression and development; key terms are also highlighted, so that the students have some reference to fall back on after the session.

We then go through a warm up that is tailored to the specific practitioner before working on techniques that inspired the practitioner..
